PKS is a waste of palm oil industries generated at oil extraction at crude palm oil mill. It is a hard shell of palm oil seed with a consistent quality and quality. Indonesia supplies more than 50% of worldwide productions of palm oils and PKS is recognized as one of the most potential biomass energy resources widely over the world. PKS is a carbon neutral material not to cause increase of carbon dioxide in the air, and considered to co-fire with coal power station or substitute fuel oil for thermal.
Wood pellet has a great potential in use at home and mid/small boilers in industries. Utilizing surplus stocks or wastes of wood chips from industries, even though supply volume is limited, it can substitute fuel oil by changing heating/boiler facilities.
Tamagawa Holdings and BioEnergy Resources established PT Indonesia Biomass Resources (IBR) in Jakarta in June, 2010 and started supply of PKS in bulk mainly to outside of Indonesia. IBR is now operating a stockpile in Padang, West Sumatera and consistently accumulate 30,000 – 45,000 metric tons of PKS stock.
We head for annual supply capacity of 200,000MT from Indonesia in 2011.
On the other hand, IBR is operating packing center of PKS into jumbo bags for small users.
